Waterproofing of the skyscrapers

The theory of skyscrapers in Milan's Porta Nuova district, the basement of which was built with a 43,730 m² Drytech White Tank waterproof structure.

The waterproofing of the skyscrapers in Milan’s Porta Nuova district was carried out with 43,730 m² of Drytech Tank.

The masterplan of Milano Porta Nuova was signed by the Kohn Pedersen Fox studio of London, while the executive plan is the work of the Arquitectonica IC of Miami and m²P Associati of Milan, for the commissioning of Hines Italia and Galotti SpA.

3,000 m² are destined for the Municipality of Milan to make it a cultural center. The four underground levels, made with the Drytech Tank waterproofing system, house parking spaces for 2,000 cars.

Drytech has built 43,730 m² of waterproof underground structures with the White Tank System, collaborating with the designers of Arup Italia in Milan and coordinating with the CMB company for the preparatory activities for waterproofing which, being parallel to those of the construction site, are in fact been removed from the work calendar.

Gärtnerei, Bärau

The greenhouses of the Bärau garden centre.

Aerial view of the Geissmann headquarters in Dottikon

Waterproofing an 8-metre deep underground warehouse of Geissmann Papier in Dottikon, realised with the Drytech Tank structure.

Architects Xaver Meyer of Villmergen designed a large, purely functional three-storey building, in which the structural grid of the building had to be adapted from the outset to the logistics required inside.

The basement warehouse is used for the storage of heavy plastic rolls for the production of packaging material.

A ventilation system with mechanical exchange was installed inside the building to recover heat from the exhaust air, also in the existing factory.

The floors are impressive in terms of reinforcement, guaranteeing a payload of 2.5 tonnes per square metre on the ground floor and 1.5 tonnes per square metre on the first floor for the equally heavy rolls of plastic delivered and stored on pallets.

Drytech waterproofed the new production hall

Vue aérienne de la nouvelle usine Pilatus Aircraft à Stans, en Suisse.

Drytech waterproofed the new production hall of Pilatus, the Swiss business aircraft manufacturer.

The new hall, 196 metres long and 170 metres wide, with a usable area of 17,200 square metres, is impressive.

The wooden construction covers an area of 52 x 192 metres without supports. The revolutionary beech trusses allow the total loads to be transferred to the foundations through the six main beams (90 tonnes per beam) and the outer walls.

The main beams consist of solid glued trusses (16 tonnes each) made of glued spruce, supplemented by steel beams.

The foundations are made of waterproof Drytech concrete.

Waterproofing the dock of a restaurant

The Fischer Stube restaurant in Lauerz emerges from the waters of the lake of the same name thanks to a waterproof Drytech white tub structure.

Waterproofing the dock of a restaurant on Lake Lauerz puts the Drytech Tank structure in direct contact with water.

The Seerestaurant Fischerstube in Lauerz/SZ is only 1.3 metres above the water level of Lake Lauerz.

On the outside, the slab of the dock is a large terrace housing the outdoor tables.

The interior of the restaurant welcomes guests with a harmonious mix of materials and a special ceiling installation: a wave-like architectural soundproofing that reproduces ripples.

An oval niche is set in the centre of the ceiling structure for effective indirect lighting.

In addition to the White Tank, Drytech applied DRYpox waterproof coating to the floor and walls of the entire basement.

The heated outdoor pool at the Gstaad Sports Centre, built with the waterproof structure Drytech White Tank

Drytech realised the waterproofing of the new outdoor pool with whirlpool, the indoor pool and the SPA facilities of the renovated Gstaad Sports Centre.

A total of Chf 23 million was allocated for the renovation and extension of the sports centre, which also includes a 5-lane curling hall and a restaurant.

The building’s entire shell was reconstructed, and the roof and façades were renovated. In addition, the heat recovery, indoor pool ventilation and heating were renewed.

Waterproofing of the communal car park

The dialects connecting the three buildings of the Baden Ruetihof residential complex

The waterproofing of the communal car park of a residential complex was realised with a Drytech waterstop designed according to the different flow rates insisting on the slab, in correspondence with the buildings or the green areas.

The movement joints placed in correspondence with the load changes to avoid cracks were sealed with special DRYset waterstop tapes, injected with DRYflex expanding resin, which made the justs themselves waterproof for the entire thickness of the underground structure.

The three buildings that make up the residential complex crown the communal garden, which also houses play areas and green spaces. The arrangement of the three bodies allows each residential unit to have a view and independence that guarantee absolute privacy.

Thanks to the southern orientation of the living spaces, the lounge areas and the elegant loggias and terraces guarantee optimal exposure to the sun.
