RAILWAY UNDERPASS, VIGEVANO / A new pedestrian underpass was built just below the Vigevano station, allowing travellers to access the platforms safely and connecting the two districts on either side of the station. The waterproof structure was designed and built using the Drytech Tank System.
A suspended metal structure was created to support the tracks, closing one track at a time, diverting rail traffic from time to time onto the others. The tunnel was then excavated and cast in watertight concrete according to Drytech's recipe. The waterproof concrete recipe was defined by Drytech Engineering on the basis of the aggregates present in the concrete plant chosen by the construction company Quadrio.
Joints, cracks and penetrations were prepared with DRYset elements, in preparation for the rapid and capillary diffusion of DRYflex resin. At the end of the concrete’s curing period, the Drytech technicians saturated all the construction details with waterproofing resin, completely sealing the structure.
Also in this case, the building site did not affect the normal rail traffic and, in turn, Drytech did not interfere with the progress of construction work, since its activities are done at the same time as construction and they can be removed from the works calendar.
