AGRILORO WINERY, GENESTRERIO / Few things are linked to the territory like wine. Even when considering agricultural produce, few are truly non-global.
Wine belongs to its territory in the broadest sense, made of earth, tradition and the environment: three factors which are difficult to reproduce, so much so that a territory often gives its name to the wine. This beautiful winery, designed by the architect Ferruccio Robbiani for Agriloro, makes this bond elastic as it rises seamlessly from the ground in which the vineyard roots of Mainard Perler’s are buried.
The structure features an outside courtyard which transforms progressively into the wall of the main facade and, in an equally continuous manner, into the floor containing the offices. The two levels of the structure against the ground contain the production and storage of the wine.
Drytech collaborated with the Engineering firm De Giorgi & Partners from Muralto on the design of the 2,000 m² of waterproof structure, including the access ramp. The Agriloro winery was built by the construction firm Garzoni from Lugano.
